I chose medicine because I wanted to use my skills and training to help people feel better. I enjoy surgery because I can directly diagnose and treat problems using both my physical and mental capabilities. The hands-on, face-to-face nature of surgical care is what I find the most rewarding.I always try to think of how I would want myself or one of my family members to be treated. That doesn't mean I always agree with patients' choices regarding their care, but that I am empathetic to their concerns as we work together to make decisions for their treatment.
