I’m a Professor of OB-GYN and Director of the IVF and Andrology Laboratories at University of Vermont Medical Center. I chose reproductive medicine because I’ve always been fascinated by the complexity and rapid innovation in IVF and infertility treatment — and I wanted to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. My clinical interests include IVF, embryo biopsy for genetic testing, cryopreservation of gametes and embryos and fertility preservation for cancer patients or those undergoing treatments that may affect future fertility.I’m passionate about improving IVF outcomes and committed to training the next generation of embryologists, as well as educating medical students, OB-GYN residents and reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellows. My research focuses on enhancing safety and quality in clinical IVF. I’ve published over 165 peer-reviewed papers, abstracts and book chapters, and I’m affiliated with American Society for Reproductive Medicine, College of American Pathologists and ABB.One of the most rewarding moments in my career is when patients return to the clinic with their newborns — seeing a baby I once observed as a few cells under the microscope is incredibly moving.Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, hiking and being outdoors.
