It sounds cliché, but I decided to pursue a career in medicine to help people. I'm most inspired to make a difference in public and population health, and that passion continues to guide my work every day.Clinically, I specialize in vaginal infections, infectious diseases in obstetrics and gynecology and family planning. One of the most impactful projects I’ve led provided no-cost contraception to nearly 10, 000 women. This initiative significantly reduced unplanned and teen pregnancies, decreased the need for abortion and saved millions of dollars in health care costs.My clinical research focuses on family planning and infectious diseases. I am particularly interested in how social determinants of health impact sexually transmitted infections, fertility and unplanned or unintended pregnancies.Outside of work, I enjoy music — I play in the Williston Town Band! I also love exercising and spending time in my garden.
