My areas of special interest include vasculitis (inflammation of the blood vessels), anti-synthetase syndrome (a rare inflammatory muscle disease), non-infectious uveitis (inflammation of the eyes) and systemic autoimmune conditions. I also treat common rheumatologic disorders such as gout and rheumatoid arthritis.My research interests include venous thromboembolic disease (VTE) in granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), which is small vessel vasculitis where small vessels become inflamed.I enjoy establishing diagnosis and treatment for my patients, caring for them and impacting their lives in a positive way. I like to promote health rather than just treat an illness.My philosophy is to treat patients as individuals with an organic and spiritual dimension. I like to feel that I've made my best effort to answer my patients' questions and ensure that their concerns have been addressed when they leave.
